Not need to say how beautiful the song is nor how cute and lovely Han Geng is…
This loveliness, this innocence, this natureness can only be felt by heart, words cannot describe.
But after watching the MV, I have some unpleasant feelings towards the story line.
To tell the truth, the MV story has nothing to do with the lyric T.T
Let’s watch the MV once again:

And here’s the lyric (credit to http://fuckyeahhangeng.tumblr.com)
"On a rainy day I hold an umbrella for you
Remembering that time I got my right shoulder wet
Protecting you on this side where my heart beats
The right time is at the right place
The right expression will be our meeting
The chaotic heart melts in a moment
What will happen if I don’t meet with you?
Is my heart still wandering or not?
In an unknown night, hurting from unknown wounds
A fantasy
What will happen if I don’t meet with you?
It’s that I can’t see this piece of heaven
You are always quietly at my side
Teaching me to be strong
Two people admiring each other is no need to say forever and ever
Only need you to place me in your heart
What will happen if I don’t meet with you?
Is my heart still wandering or not?
In an unknown night, hurting from unknown wounds
A fantasy
What will happen if I don’t meet with you?
It’s that I can’t see this piece of heaven
You are always quietly at my side, teaching me to be strong
On a rainy day I hold an umbrella for you
Remembering that time I got my right shoulder wet
Protecting you on this side where my heart beats"
Can you relate anything in the lyric to that MV??
Beautiful lyric and beautiful MV seperately, but when putting them together, uhm, I don’t know what to say. How do you guys feel about it?
This unleasant feeling makes me watch “Holding an umbrella” again and again, and thanks to my dear meimei Ariel, finally I found some acceptable explanation for it.
"Just assume Han Geng is a student major in music composing and he’s now in his hometown for summer vacation *don’t ask me why, I just love the idea “student”*. His family is not rich, his father’s even in sickness, therefore he has to gain an extra job as a night guard at an unknown company *whatever company may be, it doesn’t matter*. Han Geng has a girlfriend who stays far away *maybe a rich and beautiful classmate who’s still in the city, I guess. Don’t hate me, I don’t like the idea “girlfriend” at all, but the lyric mentions a girl, so I have to make up a girl T.T* On the way to his workplace, he passes a very beautiful and peaceful flower field which makes he feels at peace, and suddenly a beautiful melody just comes up to him. He rides fast to the workplace, intending to write that melody down immediately. And then, we all know what happens – he bumps into a truck. Poor our Geng!. He gets up and still get to the workplace, finishs his nightship and composes the song titled “Holding an umbrella”. He’s so happy about the song that its melody still echoes in his head on the way back home. He intends to present that song to his girlfriend *so jealous of that imaginary girl T.T*. But when Han Geng reaches home, he finds out a terrible truth *we all know what it is T.T*".
That's is, so clear.
Thanks my dear meimei Ariel again :3
